Actor Bruce Willis and his wife Emma Heming Willis have sold their country estate near Bedford Corners, N.Y., for $7.66 million, or 41% off its original listing price.
The sale is one of the largest transactions to be recorded in Westchester this year, according to a spokeswoman for Douglas Elliman, the firm handling the transaction. [WSJ]
The 22-acre property came on the market in January for $12.95 million; at the time, the couple said they were selling amid a planned move to the West Coast.
The estate comprises a roughly 9,000-square-foot Craftsman-style main home with five bedrooms, large entertaining places, a media room, a playroom and a wine cellar. A small octagonal viewing room at the top of the house has views of the surrounding area and the Croton Reservoir. There are also three other cottages on the property, each with its own private driveway.
The Willises paid about $12 million for the property in 2014, and had previously been splitting their time between the Bedford area and their apartment in Manhattan. A spokeswoman for Mr. Willis couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Ann Cutbill Lenane, Nancy Strong and Stacey Oestreich of Douglas Elliman had the listing. Ms. Lenane didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. [WSJ]
