There are 11 new names on Michelin’s guide to New York restaurants. The list is seen as something of a tease to the announcement of this year’s Michelin stars, which are widely considered the crown jewels of the restaurant industry. This year’s stars will be unveiled at a ceremony on Nov. 7 at Spring Studios in Tribeca. [Source: C]

The New York newcomers are:

  • Agi’s Counter, a pastry counter in Crown Heights from chef-owner Jeremy Salamon

  • Fasano, the renowned São Paulo-based hospitality group’s Midtown venture

  • Kingfisher, a contemporary concept in Prospect Lefferts Gardens from owners André Hueston Mack and Phoebe Damrosch

  • Mischa, an American restaurant in Midtown from chef Alex Stupak

  • Monsieur Vo, the East Village-based sister restaurant to Madam Vo from chefs Jimmy Ly and Yen Vo

  • Potluck Club, a Cantonese-American restaurant on the Lower East Side

  • Torrisi, an Italian concept from chef Rich Torrisi housed in SoHo’s Puck Building

The 11 restaurants added to Michelin’s New York guide could end up receiving a star or land a spot on the Bib Gourmand list, which features restaurants that serve high-quality food at a relatively low cost. The ceremony in Tribeca will be the first of its kind in which stars for Chicago, New York and Washington D.C. restaurants will all be awarded at the same place and time. In previous years, each city hosted its own awards.
