Louis C.K. buys another Village pad, this one for nearly $4M

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Comedian Louis C.K. just bought a home in one of Greenwich Village’s most famous addresses. The stand up comedian, who was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in 2017, bought an apartment at the end of September in One Fifth Avenue, according to property records and as first reported by the New York Post. The four bedroom, three bathroom corner unit hit the market less than 50 days ago for the first time in nearly 40 years. Originally built in 1927, the Art Deco building has a door man, private social room, library, laundry room, and bike room. Former residents of the building include Patti Smith, Brian De Palma, Keith Richards, and Tim Burton.

It is not Louis C.K.’s first journey into Greenwich Village, as he is currently looking to sell his two-bed room apartment at 101 W. 12th St. that he bought in 2016

He’s having a hard time selling it, though, as he listed the home earlier this year for $2.5 million, before deciding recently to drop the asking price to $1.9 million. The new price means he’s accepted taking a major loss on the property — as he be bought it for $2.45 million.

The controversial comedian recently started a comedy tour that will include a sold out performance at Madison Square Garden on January 28.
