Taylor Swift’s Former NYC Home to Rent for $45,000 a Month

A Manhattan carriage house once home to Taylor Swift is now available to rent for $45,000 a month, Mansion Global has learned—the same price as a scalped ticket to a show on her upcoming tour. Built in 1899, the residence is located on Cornelia Street, one of West Village’s most exclusive blocks, according to the listing with Corcoran agents Laurence Carty, Irene Lo and Jennifer Rahilly. “Cornelia Street is one of the best and most private streets in the village,” Mr. Carty said in an email. “It’s only one block. [Here], you can drive right into the garage in total privacy, and enter this home with soaring ceilings, multiple outdoor spaces and your own indoor pool.”

The 21-foot wide townhouse offers three gas fireplaces and hardwood floors, as well as four bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two powder rooms. There’s also an eat-in kitchen, a lounge area which leads to a patio surrounding the pool and a roof terrace with skyline views, according to the listing. Three of the bedrooms have private outdoor space, including the main bedroom, which also has a large bathroom with a sky-lit shower.

The 32-year-old singer and songwriter rented the Greenwich Village residence on Cornelia Street in 2016 while her Tribeca apartment was being renovated, Mansion Global reported at the time.  Ms. Swift wrote the song “Cornelia Street”—released on her 2019 album “Lover”—about falling in love on the block, according to People magazine.

The song is “about the things that took place and the memories that took place on that street…all the nostalgia. Sometimes we bond our memories to the places that they happen,” Ms. Swift said at the time.

Ms. Swift has been in the news this week after pre-sales of her Eras tour all but broke the internet, crashing the Ticketmaster site and causing the company to cancel regular ticket sales because of a lack of inventory, according to Fortune. After sales were canceled, tickets started popping up on the secondary market, including one single floor ticket for a Philadelphia show in May asking $45,000.

When Ms. Swift lived at the Cornelia Street abode, she paid about $40,000 a month, according to People. Representatives for the musician did not immediately return a request for comment.

Currently, the building is being rented to the Italian furniture firm, Zanotta. The company has created an immersive experience at the residence, dubbing it Zanotta House New York. Representatives for the company did not immediately return a request for comment. The home last traded in 2019 for $11.5 million, according to records with PropertyShark. The owners were not available for comment.  [Source: Mansion Global]
